UnderWorld Code Development

The main place for code developers of UnderWorld is the Underworld Issue and Bug Tracking Trac. However, you may need to get an account first - see below.

Getting a Subversion account to commit to the code

To be able to modify the UnderWorld source code, you must first register on this and the VPAC websites (links below). We strongly recommend you nominate the same username and password for both registrations, to simplify things.

Once you have acquired Wiki usernames and passwords, you will need to contact JohnSpencer to get commit privileges enabled for your account. You can then refer to the UnderworldReleases page for instructions on how to download and install a copy of UnderWorld from the Subversion repository.

Using Underworld: pre-installed Stable Builds on Supported supercomputers, or downloading for your PC

Using Stable Builds on Supported Supercomputers

Stable builds of UnderWorld come pre-installed and ready to use on supported supercomputers.

The APAC grid provides a new way to submit UnderWorld jobs to supported computer clusters, see UnderWorldOnAPACGrid?. Note that this feature is still a work-in-progress, and is not yet the recommended approach for "production" runs.

Downloading and installing your own copy of UnderWorld

Alternatively, you can install your own copy of UnderWorld onto your local machine. The UnderWorld source code can be downloaded as either a tarball or by using subversion - see UnderworldReleases for details.
